From the waste to the new jersey

From the waste to the new jersey

How we recycle to make thread step by step.

Scraps left over from textile factories are collected and classified by materials and colors.

The materials of each colour are ground until they achieve a texture similar to wool. This material is called "borra".

To achieve a specific color, several colors are mixed like a painter's palette.

We mix the different fibers to get the colors and thus avoid the dyeing process, which is very polluting.

The shredded fiber mixture is put into the spinning machine that will turn it into roving.

The wick lacks resistance. To give it you have to twist it to turn it into thread and then twist it.

The yarn is woven on the knitting machine according to the colors and patterns of the relevant design.

The fabric is made by hand to obtain the finished garment.
